We are seeking a skilled and motivated Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedic Surgery team. This role provides the opportunity to work collaboratively with orthopedic surgeons in both the operating room and clinical settings, delivering high-quality care to patients with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.

Position Highlights

  • Full-time Physician Assistant opportunity within Orthopedic Surgery
  • Mix of operating room, inpatient rounding, and outpatient clinic responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, histories, and physical examinations
  • Assist orthopedic surgeons in the operating room as first assist
  • Manage preoperative and postoperative care
  • Conduct inpatient rounds and manage orthopedic surgical patients
  • Provide outpatient follow-up care and treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory tests
  • Perform procedures such as joint injections, splinting, casting, and wound care
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery, and injury prevention
  • Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record

    * The Physician Assistant (PA) or the Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides assessment, triage, and therapeutic management of patient/family needs throughout the disease process as an integral part of an interdisciplinary team. The NP/PA, whether the practice setting is the inpatient, ambulatory, or outpatient settings, provides optimal patient care, from diagnostic to prognostic matters. This individual works in collaboration with the attending supervising/collaborating physician(s) in accordance with state law and hospital regulations, hospital policy, protocols and clinical pathways and may provide autonomous team based care.
