Job Summary: Provides exceptional patient care in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other physicians to deliver anesthesia for medical and surgical procedures. Cultivates a patient‑centric environment focusing on the whole individual, including physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and functional needs of the patient, family, and significant others. Serves as the focal professional for the continuity of care within scope of practice standards and specialty‑specific standards to address and resolve problems that may arise.
Sign‑on Bonus: $60,000
Responsibilities- Implement accurate, safe, patient‑centric anesthetic care.
- Understand physiological implications and anesthetic considerations of surgical procedures; continuously monitor vital signs, capnography, and pulse oximetry according to ASA guidelines.
- Ensure appropriate documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements; protect all forms of information from unauthorized access, modification, destruction, or accidental disclosure.
- Demonstrate high standards of moral and ethical behavior, professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care.
- Continuously engage in projects that maintain and advance professional competency.
- Respond to emergency calls and provide anesthesia services within the hospital setting as required.
- Education: Completion of a Certified Nurse Anesthetist Training Program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs; current State of Connecticut Nursing License;
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in Connecticut. - Experience: Preferred clinical experience as a CRNA in the given specialty/service line; not required. APRNs, PAs, CRNAs, and CNMs must be appointed to the affiliated medical staff and credentialed through the medical staff process, with evidence of current competence via reference letters from physicians.
- Licensure and Certification: AANA Certification;
State of CT RN and APRN License; ACLS; DEA Registration; and State of CT Controlled Substance Registration. - Special
Skills:
Strong concentration and focus; calm under stress; clear and effective communication with surgeons, surgical support team, patients, and families; immediate and responsive anesthetic patient management; flexibility and adaptability. - Physical Demands: Ability to lift 25 pounds, stand for long periods, wear lead for fluoroscopy or X‑Ray; observe and respond to monitoring alarms; adequate vision and hearing; effective communication skills.
