American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring Cardio Lab experience and a Connecticut or compact RN license.
Requirements- Active CT or compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required (1.5 years considered for candidates with Level I trauma or travel experience)
- Scrubbing and circulating procedure experience required
- Cardio Lab system experience required
- Experience with diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations required
- Experience with cardiac stent placement and pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring required
- Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring required
- IV therapy skills including starting and maintaining IVs required
- Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- One professional reference required for consideration
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
- Level II Trauma Center short term acute care hospital setting within the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Suite
- Two cardiac catheterization labs performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures on adult patients
- Procedures include stent implants, IABP, Impella, EKOS, Rotablator, IVUS, FFR, Penumbra, Pericardiocentesis, Shockwave, IVC filters, TEEs, and Cardioversions
- TAVRs and Mitra Clips performed in conjunction with the hybrid OR
- Common diagnoses include Coronary Artery Disease, Myocardial Infarction, Unstable Angina, Aortic/Mitral Valve Disease, and Peripheral Vascular Disease
- Day shift schedule of 4x10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM with a 30-minute break
- Call required 6-9 days per month, with weekday call from 5-15 PM to 7:00 AM and weekend call covering 24 hours
- Cath lab remains available for emergency cardiac procedures 24/7
- Floating to Milford Campus required as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
- Provide direct patient care in an interventional cardiac catheterization lab setting including scrub and circulate procedures
- Scrubs are provided for this role
- Part of the Yale New Haven Health System with free parking available
- Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible, as local candidates are not accepted
- Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible to return as a traveler
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
