The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Med Neuro unit provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and protocols. This role is ideal for nurses who are committed to delivering compassionate, personalized care.

  Full Time, Night shift (mix of 12hr and 8hr shifts, every other weekend and rotating holidays)

• Implements and monitors patient care plans.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to assess patients’ needs.
• Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds.
• Develops, implements, and revises individualized plans of care.
• Participates in activities for professional growth and development outside of patient care.

• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.

• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.

• Automatic enrollment into the Nurse Residency Program for all graduate RNs with less than one year of experience.
