This is a full-time, on-site Quality Assurance Manager role based in Bridgeport, CT. The Quality Assurance Manager oversees the quality management system, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D, and ITAR requirements, and leads initiatives to sustain and improve quality standards across the organization. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining quality procedures, managing internal and external audits, leading root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions, and monitoring key quality metrics.
The role partners closely with operations, engineering, and customer service to address quality issues, support new product introduction, and ensure consistent adherence to specifications for precision dowel pins, shafts, and related products. The Quality Assurance Manager also trains and mentors team members on quality processes, promotes a culture of continuous improvement, and collaborates with customers and suppliers to resolve technical and quality concerns.
- Experience in quality management, including quality systems development, documentation control, and implementation of ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D standards.
- Background in precision manufacturing or machining (e.g., centerless grinding, Swiss screw machining, metal components), with strong understanding of dimensional inspection and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies such as root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), statistical process control (SPC), FMEA, and continuous improvement practices.
- Familiarity with regulatory and customer requirements, including ITAR compliance, customer audits, and supplier quality management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a production environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear procedures, reports, and customer-facing quality documentation.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including coaching, training, and engaging cross-functional teams in quality initiatives.
