Manufacturing Finishing Engineer

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Precision Finishing Engineer / Quality & Flatness Engineering Manager to lead quality assurance, advanced precision metrology, and wafer chuck finishing operations.

In this dual-impact leadership role, you will be responsible for maintaining our Quality Management System (QMS), optimizing precision finishing processes (lapping, grinding, polishing), and managing cutting-edge characterization tools to meet aggressive flatness, surface roughness, and geometric specifications. You will also serve as our primary customer quality interface and collaborate closely with operations to drive yield improvements, ERP execution, and lean initiatives.

salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year

• Finishing & Flatness Control: Direct quality and flatness operations for precision wafer chucks, analyzing metrology data to continuously optimize lapping, grinding, and polishing processes.
• Advanced Metrology: Operate and manage high-precision metrology equipment (PSI, WLI, Fizeau, CMM, Profilometers) to evaluate sub-micron flatness, surface roughness ($R_a$), TTV, and geometric tolerances.
• QMS & Customer Quality: Maintain ISO 9001 compliance, drive CAPA/root-cause initiatives, and serve as the primary quality liaison for semiconductor OEM customers.
• Process & Yield Improvement: Utilize SPC, FMEA, and Lean practices to reduce scrap, optimize First Pass Yield (FPY), and enhance ERP-driven production scheduling and reporting.
