Position: Territory Manager- Cape May County, NJ

Territory Manager

Build relationships, drive sales, and make a meaningful impact in the food service industry by partnering with customers across Cape May County.

Responsibilities
  • Customer Champion
    :
    Own and nurture customer relationships in a team‑based selling model. Educate customers on ordering platforms and provide menu consultations, product recommendations, and pricing strategies.
  • Drive Sales Success
    :
    Increase case growth, acquire new business, and deliver impactful sales presentations tailored to individual customers.
  • Team‑Based Selling
    :
    Work collaboratively with Specialists, marketing, supply chain, and customer service to pursue opportunities and open new accounts.
  • Lead with Insight
    :
    Develop new business by identifying prospective customers using market‑intelligence databases, business directories, client leads, industry organizations, and trade shows.
  • Delivery Resolution
    :
    Manage deliveries according to the transportation schedule, troubleshoot order‑process issues, and resolve problems such as mis‑picks or stock‑outs.
  • Competitive Advantage
    :
    Share market, product, and competitor information with customers as a value‑added service.
  • Stay on the Move
    :
    Use your personal vehicle to conduct site visits, follow‑ups, and check‑ins to ensure customer satisfaction.
Supervision
  • No direct reports.
Work Environment
  • Daily work outside the office, visiting customers under varying weather and temperature conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 1+ year of sales experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Experience in food service, culinary, restaurant management, or hospitality preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and conduct cold calls to develop new business.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Competitive spirit with drive to exceed goals.
  • Problem‑solving, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Team‑up mentality for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Tech‑savviness; proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools such as Salesforce is a plus.
  • Capability to lift or carry up to 75 lbs occasionally.

Compensation

Initial base salary ranges from $55,000 to $95,000, depending on relevant experience, education, skills, and location.
