Job Description

You will monitor and troubleshoot all Marine Corps Electronic Security Systems, Intrusion Detection System, alarm, mass notification and CCTV systems installed and annunciating at the Provost Marshal Office/Marine Corps Police Department.

You will receive and process incoming fire alarms, 911 calls, emergency and non-emergency requests for police, fire, medical emergencies, airfield emergencies, and environmental and hazardous materials incidents.

You will dispatch personnel and apparatus to the scene of emergencies, record pertinent data, events, and logs, and initiate pre-arrival instructions to callers for fire, medical, and police emergencies.

You will monitor status and availability of police, fire, and medical field units to assure an appropriate response is made.

You will monitor and operate the Mass Notification (MNS) as directed to ensure proper dissemination of emergency mass notification messages throughout the installation.

Must be a US Citizen.

Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.

Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver's license and be able to maintain a U.S. Government emergency vehicle operator's license.

Requires the ability to meet legal requirements for carrying a firearm. Must pass all weapons qualifications tests prior to assigned duties and responsibilities and must pass all re-qualifications as required.

You must obtain the following certifications within the first year of employment and maintain them without lapse throughout employment:
First Aid, CPF, EMO Protocols and Certifications.

You must complete all required trainings.

You will be required to pass the Police Applicant Suitability Review (PASR) Investigation.

Must be able to read, write and speak English.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

This position requires rotating shift work.

Must complete the MCESS (Marine Corps Electronic Security System) training provided by the physical security section.
