Irrigator

White Brewster area.

Engages in irrigating, cooling, fixing mainlines, and all aspects of growing/producing tree crops by performing the following duties.

• Operate an ATV to perform job tasks.
• Turn on irrigation according to foreman’s instructions.
• Observe fruit temperature to turn on overhead cooling.
• Fix pipes, sprinklers, mainlines, and any other equipment related to irrigation.
• Site prepares for new blocks.
• Apply fertigation.
• Place/remove bins within harvest blocks.
• Other job tasks may include pruning, thinning, pulling weeds, trellis work, tree training, general clean up, and planting.

Directly supervises 3 subordinate supervisors and anywhere from 6 to 30 employees.

• Education and/or
  
  Experience:
  
  High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals;
  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence;
  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals;
  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
