Bridgeport, CT 06604
- Speak with and listen deeply to patients who are terminally ill.
- Read aloud to patients.
- Look through photos with patients.
- Share music or videos that interest the patient.
- Offer a compassionate presence and other meaningful support tailored to the patient’s interests and needs.
- Commit at least four (4) hours per week and a minimum of one year to the program.
- Complete approximately 20 hours of online orientation training focused on personal death awareness and hospice philosophy.
- Have had at least one year since your last close death.
- Participate in a monthly virtual meeting.
- Ability to listen deeply and meet people where they are in energy and tone.
- Interest in and compassion for others.
- Good boundaries and self‑care practices.
As a volunteer there is no monetary compensation; only gratitude and the chance to serve the community.
