The Work Place seeks a Housing Navigator to help job seekers in Southwestern Connecticut secure safe, stable housing that supports their employment goals. This role conducts needs assessments, connects participants to local, state, and federal housing resources, and coordinates with landlords, service providers, and workforce staff. The Housing Navigator maintains detailed case records, tracks outcomes, and supports workshops and outreach. Ideal candidates bring strong knowledge of housing resources, case management skills, and a commitment to equity, collaboration, and community impact.

Responsibilities

  • Provide housing navigation and case management services to job seekers in Southwestern Connecticut
  • Assess client housing needs, barriers, and eligibility for local, state, and federal housing programs
  • Coordinate referrals and collaborate with community partners, landlords, and service providers to secure stable housing
  • Educate participants on tenant rights, budgeting, and resources that support housing stability and employment
  • Maintain accurate case notes, data, and reports in accordance with funder and organizational requirements
  • Participate in outreach events, information sessions, and workshops to connect eligible participants to services
  • Work closely with workforce development staff to align housing plans with participants' employment and training goals
  • Track outcomes, monitor progress, and adjust service plans to improve housing and employment success
  • Advocate for participants with external agencies to help resolve housing-related challenges
  • Contribute to program improvement by sharing feedback, best practices, and emerging community resource information
