Truck Driver CDL A

Overview

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Bridgeport, CT. This position offers weekly pay (minimum $1120 per week) and a range of benefits.

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle and comply with safety & DOT regulations.
• Maintain continuous training and provide excellent customer service.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs. Other tasks as assigned.

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test and background/motor vehicle check with drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical and a Ryder road test.
• Provide an appropriate Class A CDL and endorsements required.
• Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within past 3 years, OR 2 years within last 5 years, OR 5 years within last 10 years.
• Must have ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Must be able to drive a manual transmission vehicle.

Some positions may require additional screening, including employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, a road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

• Route:
  Shuttle Equipment between Ryder Customer Facilities.
• Freight:
  No Touch – empty trailers for equipment shuttle transfer movement.
• Additional duties include fueling trucks, cleaning/maintaining shop area.

Trucks are well-maintained, safe, 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide locations.
