Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary

Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, as well as mentoring students in and outside of the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned, be they face-to-face, hybrid, online, or within the context of dual credit instruction.

All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.

Required Education

All faculty members must provide minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching courses designed for workforce certificate or degree completion. These standards include an appropriate academic degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline.

Required Experience

Minimum of 3 years experience in the field of study.

Preferred Education

Associate degree or higher and/or credentialed in the field of study or a closely related technical field. Transcripts, certifications and/or licenses must be included in application.

Preferred Experience

3 to 7 years work experience in the field of study & classroom teaching experience with adult learners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in Electricity/Electronics, Fluid Power, PLC, Robotics, System Level Troubleshooting and safety. Adjunct faculty will provide instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, as well as mentoring students in and outside of the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned, be they face-to-face, hybrid, online, or within the context of dual credit instruction.

All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures

Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

Adjunct must demonstrate a working knowledge of:

* Electricity, analog/digital electronics, circuit analysis, circuit troubleshooting, wiring, soldering and low-voltage/high-voltage safety protocols

* Pneumatics and hydraulics, fluid power principles/operations, safety and system troubleshooting

* Siemens/Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers and general industrial control systems, networking, HMI, safety and troubleshooting

* AC/DC motors, single and multi-phase, motor control, electrical/mechanical safety, alignment and troubleshooting

* Robotics, automations, sensors, vision, COBOTS, safety, networking, electrical/pneumatic interface and troubleshooting

* Hand and power tools, test equipment, gauges, meters, thermography and calibration standards used in industrial maintenance
