IoT Specialist
Extreme Endeavors is seeking a highly organized, hands‑on IoT Specialist to lead the development, assembly, testing, and deployment of our Internet of Things (IoT) products supporting water and wastewater automation systems. This role blends planning, system building, and practical field implementation.
The ideal candidate thrives in both structured organization and technical build environments—equally comfortable creating documentation and processes as they are building devices, configuring devices, and troubleshooting hardware in the field.
Key Responsibilities- Organize and manage the development lifecycle of IoT products from concept through deployment
- Build, assemble, and configure IoT hardware including sensors, controllers, gateways, and communications equipment
- Test, validate, and troubleshoot devices, firmware, and communications networks
- Develop and maintain documentation, wiring diagrams, standards, and procedures
- Coordinate inventory, parts, and production schedules
- Integrate IoT devices with SCADA, telemetry, and automation systems
- Support field installations, commissioning, and customer deployments
- Monitor performance and continuously improve reliability and scalability
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to refine product designs
- Strong organizational and project planning skills
- Hands‑on electrical and/or electronics assembly experience
- Knowledge of networking and communications (cellular, radio, Ethernet, MQTT, Modbus, etc.)
- Ability to diagnose hardware and software issues independently
- Comfortable working in both workshop and field environments
- Technical degree or equivalent experience in engineering, electronics, or related field
- Experience with SCADA or water/wastewater systems
- PCB assembly or enclosure design experience
- Scripting or programming (Python, C/C++, or similar)
- Familiarity with cloud IoT platforms
- Reliable, field‑ready IoT products delivered on schedule
- Clear documentation and organized workflows
- Reduced deployment time and improved system reliability
- Scalable solutions supporting utilities and municipalities
