Job Description:
As an Avionics Technician, here is what you'll be doing at the core, day to day.
- Install and test complex avionics equipment and electrical systems on aircraft.
- Comply with environmental health/safety policies and procedures.
- Perform and document all work per appropriate manuals and regulations.
- Remove, repair and re-install any problematic avionics equipment before aircraft is cleared.
- Assemble and install electrical components.
- Operate ground support equipment if required.
- Provide accurate diagnosis of avionics problem(s).
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs and worked performed on aircraft.
- Minimum of 4 years of work experience or substantiated equivalent experience.
- Corporate jet aircraft or commercial aircraft experience preferred.
- Military aircraft maintenance experience (Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections) is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) or Airframe (A) License is REQUIRED.
- GROL (General Radiotelephone Operator License) or AET (Aircraft Electronics Technician) Certification preferred.
- Certification from Avionics, Electric A/C Technical school or equivalent military training is preferred.
- Comfortable working with technology / entering aircraft maintenance actions into a computer-based system.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention-to-detail.
- Strong working knowledge of aviation safety practices and technology.
- Understand various aircraft systems, such as hydraulics and flight controls.
- Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA), if applicable.
- Must be comfortable with shift work; we are a 24/7 operation with 12-hour shifts which include days, nights, and weekends.
- Possess Required set of tools.
- Reference Avionics Tool List document - Ability to effectively communicate aircraft maintenance actions verbally and in writing.
