The MRI Technologist performs MRI procedures which are complex and elaborate to assist the physician in the diagnosis of injury and/or disease.
Minimum Qualifications- Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:
- For West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland locations:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification through ARRT or ARMRIT in MRI within 1 year of hire.
- West Virginia State Licensure as MRI Technologist or MRI Apprentice, or applicable state licensure where services will be performed.
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
- For Pennsylvania locations:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification through ARRT or ARMRIT in MRI within 1 year of hire.
- Obtain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
- Education, Certification, and/or Licensure: ARRT Certification in Radiography.
- Experience:
One (1) year experience in MRI.
- Extended periods of standing and walking.
- Lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs of weight.
- Carry items of up to 20 lbs.
- Works in a strong magnetic field.
- May be exposed to virus, disease, and infection from patients and specimens in working environment. May be exposed to traumatic situations including psychiatric crisis, physical injuries, and death.
- Possible exposure to ionizing radiation and sharps.
- Knowledge of MRI procedures and safety‑issues, organization skills, communication skills, computer skills, multi‑tasking.
- Ability to prioritize and deal with a variety of situations at any given time.
Job Description
This position is weekday dayshift with rotating weekends. The days of the week required to work will be scheduled to meet the needs of the department and may change at the discretion of the manager.
