OverviewPerform basic nursing skills under the direction of physicians and registered nursing staff. Responsible for patient care, exam room preparation, documentation support, and general office administration.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or at least one (1) year of clinical experience.
- Certification in Basic Life Support obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Completion of healthcare education coursework.
- Additional years of healthcare experience.
- Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms and obtains initial information and vital signs.
- Prepares exam rooms, maintaining cleanliness and ensuring supplies are available.
- Assists with or performs exams, tests, and procedures.
- Schedules appointments and manages referral contacts as needed.
- Supports providers during patient examinations and procedures.
- Educates patients on follow‑up expectations.
- Maintains quality‑control testing logs.
- Ensures all medical equipment functions properly.
- Assists patients with completion of medical documentation.
- Performs office administrative tasks such as answering phones, taking messages, data entry, printing, copying, and handling cash deposits.
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, rotate, stand, and walk for an 8–12 hour shift.
- Collaborative environment with team members.
- Will work irregular or protracted hours and may be required to travel between facilities.
- Exposure to biohazards, infectious diseases, and tasks performed with hands in water.
- Proficient in use and care of office equipment including printers and computers.
- Effective communication with staff and patients.
- Adaptability to changing environments and work demands.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
