Travel RN – Cardiac PCU/Stepdown | Nights | 13-Week Contract

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac PCU/Stepdown Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment on a high-acuity 36-bed Cardiac/Telemetry unit. This unit cares for complex cardiac and post‑procedural patients and is best suited for nurses with strong Stepdown or Progressive Care experience.

  Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Schedule:
  
  3x12‑hour shifts
• Contract Length:
  13 Weeks
• Weekend Requirement:
  Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement:
  Participate in holiday rotation as needed

• 36‑bed Cardiac/Telemetry‑PCU Unit
• Higher‑acuity cardiac population
• Team nursing model with RN and CNA support
• Phillips telemetry monitoring system
• Dedicated monitor technicians on unit

• Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI)
• Post Cardiac Catheterization
• Post‑PCI Patients
• Pacemaker Patients
• Respiratory Failure
• Chest Tube Management
• Post‑Operative Lung Surgery Patients
• Cardiac Telemetry & Progressive Care Patients

• PCU Patients: 1:4
• Med/Surg Telemetry Patients: 1:5
• Occasionally 1:6 for discharge‑focused assignments

• Active RN License
• Current BLS Certification
• Strong Cardiac Telemetry and Stepdown experience
• Ability to independently interpret telemetry rhythms
• Experience caring for post‑cardiac cath and cardiac intervention patients
• Experience managing titratable cardiac drips

• Cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Telemetry monitoring
• Post‑cath and post‑PCI care
• Chest tube management
• Cardiac patient assessment
• Progressive Care/Stepdown nursing

Must be comfortable titrating:

• Cardizem
• Amiodarone
• Dobutamine
• Dopamine
• Heparin
• Nitro (up to 50 mcg)
• Lasix
• Ativan
• Integrelin

• Charge Nurse available 24/7
• CNA support (approximately 1 CNA per 9 patients)
• Respiratory Therapy available for CPAP/BiPAP management
• Monitor Technicians provide telemetry surveillance

• May float to other Med/Surg or Telemetry units based on facility needs
• Travelers expected to float within skill set

• Royal Blue Scrubs
