Job Overview
Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel RN in Hematology/Oncology Med‑Surg for an assignment in Bridgeport, West Virginia.
Job SummaryThe Medical Surgical Oncology Floor Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive nursing care to general medical‑surgical and oncology patients during 12‑hour day shifts. The role requires 36 hours per week over a 13‑week assignment.
Responsibilities- Deliver nursing care to post‑operative, oncology, and general med‑surg patients, including those with neutropenic precautions, infections, and chest tube management.
- Manage oxygen delivery, monitor telemetry, and titrate heparin drips.
- Read and interpret telemetry strips and EPIC charting system entries.
- Collaborate with a 24‑hour charge nurse and support staff (three CNAs).
- Float to other Med‑Surg/Telemetry units when required, observing appropriate patient‑to‑nurse ratios.
- Participate in orientation with a preceptor and adhere to unit dress code of royal blue scrubs.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (ACLS preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience and a valid RN license.
- Ability to work in the United States and flexibility for travel assignments.
- Oncology certification (ONC or ONCC) is a plus.
