American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical position requiring 2+ years of experience and Cerner proficiency.

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital environment
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• Uses Cerner EMR system
• Unit cannot guarantee schedule requests but will try to accommodate travelers

• Active WV or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications:
  Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/PICC line management
• Skilled in blood product administration and peripheral line care/management
• Experienced in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care/management
• Competent in gastrointestinal care including colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management
• Experienced in continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)
• Skilled in medication management including heparin, insulin, and cardiac/vasoactive drip management (no titration)
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring
• Experienced in use of rapid response/code teams
• Skilled in isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac management
• Copies of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

• Provide comprehensive medical surgical nursing care including IV therapy, respiratory support, and wound care
• Manage patients requiring telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip management, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Two manager or charge references from within the past year required for consideration
• Possible contract extension available
