Operating Room Nurse Position Schedule
This position offers a 12-hour night shift schedule, specifically from Wednesday to Friday.
Job DescriptionThe Operating Room Nurse will be responsible for providing care in various surgical areas, including General, Ortho, Neuro, Vascular (excluding open hearts), Eyes, and ENT surgeries. The facility operates 11 total rooms—8 OR suites and 3 Endo suites—and manages approximately 65 cases per day, with about 25 cases in the Endo suites. The nurse will also have the opportunity to cross-train in Endoscopy.
The use of Baxter pumps and DaVinci Robots is expected, and experience with the DaVinci Robot is a significant plus. The hospital has a requirement for all permanent staff to hold ACLS certification due to the use of modern sedation methods.
- Assist in all areas of the Operating Room.
- Support surgical teams during procedures across various specialties.
- Monitor patient safety and comfort during surgery.
- Ensure compliance with ACLS standards due to sedation practices.
- Participate in call rotation, which includes one weeknight call every 4 weeks and one weekend call shift every 3 months.
- Current RN license and ability to provide a copy for submission.
- BLS certification is required.
- Experience in all areas of the Operating Room is essential.
- Experience with DaVinci Robot is highly preferred.
