The NDT Technician will be responsible for conducting and interpreting non‑destructive tests on various aircraft components and structures using advanced NDT methods. This individual must hold a Level 2 NDT certification. The position ensures the integrity and quality of parts while maintaining compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
Duties & Responsibilities- Perform and interpret non‑destructive tests on aerospace components using a variety of NDT techniques, preparing parts before or after testing according to approved work instructions.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and ensure proper documentation of all findings, ensuring compliance with customer, company, and regulatory requirements.
- Set up and calibrate NDT equipment, and conduct tests in accordance with approved procedures and specifications.
- Interpret and evaluate test results according to applicable standards, codes, and specifications, and make recommendations based on findings.
- Review and analyze work orders, technical manuals, and blueprints to determine appropriate NDT methods and inspection criteria.
- Provide guidance and training to Level 1 NDT Inspectors.
- Maintain NDT equipment and conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
- Ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, and company safety, quality, and environmental policies.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and corrective actions as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree or three years of related experience in lieu of one.
- Possess current Level 2 NDT certification(s) in accordance with NAS 410, or an equivalent standard, or be eligible.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ASTM, ASME, and NAS, as well as FAA and EASA regulations.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions based on inspection data.
- Communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Proficiency in using basic computer software (Microsoft Office, data entry systems).
- Two to four years of relevant NDT experience in the aerospace or aviation industry.
- FAA Repairman or Inspector Authorization (IA) certification.
- Additional certification in other NDT methods.
The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
