Shop Foreman/Mechanic

Position Overview:

The Shop Foreman/Mechanic reports to the Equipment Manager and is responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of all equipment assets assigned. The goal for the group is to provide safe and efficient services that maximize asset utilization and reduce downtime

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions);

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Provide proactive leadership that promotes the Safety Culture of the organization
• Requires PPE adherence in shop and in the field.
• Maintain good house-keeping within shop and all maintenance areas.
• Leads workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment
• Conducts routine inspection and certification of equipment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain all equipment.
• Plan and directs R&M services with effective scheduling and coordination with Equipment Manager and production schedules.
• Utilize CMMS for Work Order Requests and PM service needs.
• Prioritize repairs based on need of asset, cost, and time of repair.
• Assign tasks based on mechanic skill and repair difficulty.
• Review and approve cost reporting on a daily basis.
• Utilize Infield to review and approve mechanic staff time and cost coding.
• Review and approve coding and cost of PO requests for parts, supplies, and services.
• Coordinates maintenance services to be provided by outside vendors, including warranties and service contracts
• Review performance metrics and shop and equipment financial reports with Equipment Manager.
• Understands and monitors performance goals and equipment scorecard metrics.
• Communicate and coordinate with Operations staff.
• Provide updates on down assets and repair schedules.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electric and other types of malfunctions of machinery and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and operations manuals and follow step by step instructions
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

Other Requirements:

• 2 years' experience preferred as a head mechanic, or equivalent combination of experience, training and education
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
• Must be willing to travel to job sites and/or other shops and work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
• Timely and regular attendance is an essential job function of performance. Employees will be held accountable for adhering to their workplace schedule.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools, Lift tools, machinery parts, and other objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Endure intermittent bending, crouching, pushing, pulling, stooping, and reaching
• Standing for extended periods of time

• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
