Position Summary
The Building Supply Dispatcher coordinates deliveries of building materials to customer job sites. This role works closely with drivers, customers, and yard personnel to ensure products are delivered safely, accurately, and on time.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule and dispatch deliveries of block, aggregates, and other building materials.
- Communicate with drivers regarding routes, delivery instructions, and schedule changes.
- Review orders and delivery tickets for accuracy.
- Coordinate with yard and warehouse teams to ensure materials are loaded and ready for delivery.
- Provide customers with delivery updates and resolve service issues.
- Maintain dispatch records, delivery schedules, and driver logs.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and DOT regulations.
- Support efficient routing and truck utilization.
- Experience in dispatching, logistics, transportation, or building supply operations.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
- Basic computer skills and experience with dispatch or order management systems.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience in construction materials or building supply distribution.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation requirements.
- Office‑based position with frequent communication with drivers, customers, and yard personnel.
- Occasional outdoor work to assist with delivery coordination.
- Fast‑paced environment supporting daily delivery operations.
- Monday through Friday, with hours based on operational needs.
- Occasional Saturday work may be required.
