Specialty Food Project Assistant
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Specialty Food Project Assistant for the Rutgers Food Innovation Center (RFIC) to assist with the coordination of the SOFI Awards judging process.
- Ensures judging samples are perfectly timed to stay hot or cold, maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Directs and coordinates others to assist with judging activities and logistics.
- Supports scheduling and preparation for SOFI Awards judging.
- Prepares, organizes, and maintains materials for judging activities.
- Tracks project progress and creates charts to monitor status until completion.
- Ensures judging areas meet food safety and operational standards.
- Communicates effectively with team members and participants.
- Unpacks, stores, and organizes incoming shipments for judging.
- Manages project inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and availability of supplies.
- Coordinates timing of hold and cold food.

Salary: $25.00 per hour

QualificationsMinimum
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Strong organizational and computer skills, including data tracking, inventory management, and chart creation.
- Ability to work independently, take direction, and lead others.
- Attention to detail and strong time-management skills.
- Two years of related experience in restaurant kitchen management.
- This role requires flexible daytime availability.
- Located in Bridgeton, NJ, Cumberland County.
