Amergis is seeking dedicated and resilient Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to provide quality healthcare services within a secure correctional environment. This role involves direct patient care, medication administration, emergency response, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective treatment and continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in a secure correctional setting
- Administer medications, injections, and prescribed treatments accurately
- Conduct intake screenings, assessments, and routine vital sign checks
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid or triage care
- Monitor patient health status and document all care and observations
- Assist providers with exams, procedures, and diagnostic testing
- Collaborate with healthcare staff and correctional personnel to coordinate care
- Educate patients on medications, chronic conditions, and hygiene
- Maintain compliance with infection control, safety standards, and correctional protocols
- Active New Jersey LPN license
- 1.5+ years of LPN experience (required)
- Current BLS certification
- Must be comfortable working in a prison/correctional environment (fast-paced, structured, and potentially challenging)
- Strong clinical, documentation, and communication skills
- Prior correctional healthcare experience
- Experience in behavioral health, detox, or chronic disease management
- Experience with EMR systems
