University Correctional Health Care (UCHC), part of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, provides physical, mental health, dental, and sex offender treatment services to individuals involved in the criminal justice system.

Rutgers University seeks a Part Time Licensed Practical Nurse for Southwoods State Prison in Bridgeton, NJ. The role involves administering total patient care based on individualized needs, under RN oversight, performing treatments and procedures within guidelines, and ensuring a safe therapeutic environment.

• Participate in data collection related to patients’ status and needs.
• Provide input to Registered Nurse for incorporation into the plan of care.
• Deliver direct patient care within scope of practice to ensure plan implementation.
• Inform and instruct patients and significant others about health status and plan of care.
• Assist patients and significant others in discharge preparation and home health maintenance.
• Document all aspects of patient care.

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Valid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New Jersey.
• CPR Certification.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• At least six (6) months of experience in an acute hospital setting.

Grade: 215. Minimum Salary: $32,520;
Mid‑Range Salary: $33,020;
