Staff Nurse PT Nights UCHC SWSP (Multiple Vacancies)

University Correctional Health Care (UCHC) of Rutgers University seeks a Full Time Staff Nurse for Southwoods State Prison in Bridgeton, New Jersey. The role focuses on ambulatory care for inmates and requires immediate response to health needs in a correctional setting.

• Provides direct and indirect nursing care for residents and families across age groups.
• Performs assessments in intake areas, health care units, emergency situations, clinics, and infirmary.
• Collaborates with health care professionals and security officers in a correctional environment.
• Identifies goals and nursing objectives, implementing interventions for identified problems.
• Plans care based on assessments, makes timely referrals, and initiates care per institutional policies.
• As a team leader or charge nurse, delegates duties and guides other team members.

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with a license to practice in New Jersey.
• CPR certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle or alternative transportation.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
• Preferred:
  Minimum of one year experience in a correctional setting.

Salary range:
Minimum $37,230, Mid $46,540, Maximum $54,050. Final offer may depend on qualifications, experience, and available funding.

Part‑time (20 hours per week, night shift), onsite. FLSA:
Nonexempt. Grade: 01D.

Staff – 12 month. Pension eligibility: ABP.
