Position: Strategic Territory Manager – Construction Aggregates Growth

Whibco Inc, a long-standing family owned company with a presence in South Jersey since 1841, is looking for a Territory Manager to expand its market presence and strengthen customer relationships across the region. Whibco of New Jersey has had a commanding presence in the sand industry of southern New Jersey since 1841, when it was America’s first producer of sand for the metal casting industry.

Today Whibco continues to produce foundry sands as it has for more than 180 years, along with an expanding footprint into specialty markets which include concrete sand, golf sand, infill sand, roofing granules, and gravel. With approximately 12,000 acres of land and reserves in Cumberland County, Whibco plans to continue to grow its business for decades to come.

Whibco Inc is continuing to extend its family of employees and is looking for a driven, results-oriented Territory Manager to develop new business and grow existing customer accounts. The individual will be responsible for expanding our market presence, providing consultation on the application and selection of construction aggregate materials, and serving as a trusted point of contact for customers throughout the territory.

The ideal candidate for this position would have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, passion for the industry, and excellent communication and relationship-building skills. The Territory Manager would report directly to the Vice President of Operations and Sales and work closely with the plant management team and third-party freight haulers to coordinate and fulfill customer needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute strategic territory sales plans to identify and secure new business

• Maintain and grow existing customer accounts to ensure repeat business and high customer satisfaction

• Monitor market conditions, pricing trends, and competitor activity

• Conduct customer visits and virtual meetings

• Routine travel within the territory and occasional overnight stays as needed

• Provide consultation to customers on the application and selection of construction aggregate materials and/or industrial sands

• Prepare accurate sales forecasts, performance reports, and pipeline updates

• Coordinate customer needs with the plant management team and third-party freight haulers

• Base salary plus bonus incentives

Qualifications

To be a qualified candidate for this position, an individual:

• Should have 5+ years of territory management experience, preferably in the construction aggregate or industrial sand industry

oProven territory management success within an unrelated industry will also be considered

• Should have an Associate’s degree in marketing, business management, or a related field (preferred)

• Must have excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• Should be self-motivated with the ability to manage a large geographic territory independently

• Should possess, or have the ability to develop, an understanding of industry processes, project cycles, and material specifications

• Must have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite

oExperience analyzing sales reports within Quick Books preferred

• Must have a valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel throughout the region
