Overview:

Our client, a rapidly growing systems integrator, is looking for an Automation/Controls Engineer in the Chicago market.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair Building Automation Systems malfunctions, including testing and modifying BAS/Controls in multiple system software languages.

Provide sketches of field changes and discrepancies for engineering corrections and drawings. Assist with job layouts and bid proposals as needed.

Consult with customers through data collection and site assessments. Support sales by providing technical recommendations for leads, retrofits, upgrades, and enhancements to existing equipment.

Communicate effectively with customers to ensure high satisfaction levels. Train customers in control systems operations.

Offer training to service technicians. Compile job documentation such as certificates of completion, training certificates, and punch lists.

Explain technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Education

Qualifications:

Graduates of vocational school four-year programs or associates degrees in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, HVAC, or related fields.
Equivalent experience of 2 years in servicing electronic or mechanical systems, controls, or HVAC equipment may offset formal education requirements.

Experience

Qualifications:

Valid driver’s license.
Proficiency in software applications related to the HVAC industry, including Siemens, JCI, Distech, Alerton, ALC, Delta, Honeywell, Schneider, Trane, and KMC BAS product lines.
Tridium / Niagara N4 certification is preferred but not required.
Strong interpersonal skills to represent the company professionally to customers and external contacts.
