Position Summary
Oversight of the day-to-day operation of the office with regard to all AFSCME personnel; and manages the approval and reporting processes related to their attendance, time away from the office, comp/overtime worked, and professional training. Assists in promoting the values of professionalism, teamwork, collaboration and mutual respect throughout the office, and recommends ways to improve staff morale, professional development, and the overall working environment.
Meets with AFSCME staff members regularly, and performs annual evaluations. As a member of the office’s leadership team, assists with the assessment of all services within the Registrar’s Office; participates in planning, implementing and evaluating related processes; provides input for the evaluation of support staff who assist with the BSU Catalog and governance materials; and helps to promote teamwork and a “student ready” approach to service excellence.
This is an APA unit position and is subject to the terms of that unit agreement. Schedule 9 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday (Saturday and Sunday as days off). This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule (2 days remote, 3 days on campus) in accordance with BSU remote work policy. Position Type: APA Professional
Essential Duties
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the office with regard to all AFSCME staff. Ensures each day that there is adequate coverage to meet service needs. Makes recommendations with regard to office changes, and/or staffing reconfigurations, as needed.Coordinates scheduling staff members for phone/counter shifts and time off requests.As part of the annual review process, helps AFSCME staff members set realistic, measurable goals that work towards departmental and divisional strategic priorities, and supports their own professional growth.Manages the approval and reporting processes related to all AFSCME attendance, leave forms, comp/overtime worked, and professional training.Assists in resolving issues or conflicts as they arise. Whenever possible, promotes the values of professionalism, teamwork, collaboration and mutual respect throughout the office. Recommends ways to improve staff morale, promotes professional development, and strives to provide an empowering and supportive work environment.Conducts regular meetings with AFSCME staff members throughout the year, as needed. Conducts the annual evaluation for each staff member.Assist with the ordering and management of all office supply needs through WB Mason.Serves as a liaison with the AMNH program, processing registration requests, and adding academic credit to student records for this student population.Oversee the MA Reverse Transfer Database and verify eligibility working closely with community college partners.Manage the Advisor Assignment process each semester working closely with academic departments, the Academic Achievement Center, and other key student serving areas on campus.Processes Transcript Adjustments approved after the grading period is completed.Serve as liaison with the EXCEL program, assisting with any registrations, student attribute coding and coordination on upcoming semesters.Process program changes working closely with academic departments.Manage prerequisite review/drop process at the end of each semester.Serve as the backup on grade changes and transfer credit after admission requests.Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director/University Registrar.Required Qualifications
