Overview

The Department of Secondary Education and Educational Leadership (SEEL) invites applications for a full time, temporary one-year faculty position. The successful candidate will work with graduate students in the Higher Education Administration (HEA) and the MEd and EdS licensure and non-licensure programs. Teaching responsibility will be mostly the graduate courses and may be assigned undergraduate courses as approved by the department chair.

The successful candidate will model effective administrative and instructional practices that promote teaching and learning for all students P-16. Other responsibilities may include academic advising and practicum supervision in the licensure programs.

The successful applicant will collaborate with departmental faculty and engage with College of Education & Health Professional colleagues and other internal and external partners on the assessment, refinement, and expansion of existing programs. This position requires regularly scheduled office hours for student consultation. Additional responsibilities may include advising, recruiting, mentoring graduate students and other related duties as assigned and/or required.

• Teach graduate courses in the HEA program and the licensure and non-licensure educational leadership programs; may teach undergraduate courses as approved by the department chair.
• Model effective administrative and instructional practices that promote teaching and learning for all students P-16.
• Provide academic advising and practicum supervision in licensure programs as assigned.
• Collaborate with departmental colleagues and engage with College of Education & Health Profession colleagues and other internal and external partners on assessment, refinement, and expansion of existing programs.
• Maintain regularly scheduled office hours for student consultation.
• Additional responsibilities may include advising, recruiting, mentoring graduate students, and other related duties as assigned.

• EdS or MEd in Educational Leadership from an accredited university.
• Documented coursework highly relevant to leadership in P-12 institutions.
• Official transcripts documenting academic credentials are required as a condition of employment.
• Minimum five to seven years of experience in leadership at all levels of P-12 institutions.
• Experience teaching courses in leadership at the college/university level.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems such as Taskstream/Watermark.
• Demonstrated ability to design and teach online courses and incorporate technology into student learning.
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and advising; to working in a university community that embraces diversity, equity, inclusion, and multiple perspectives; and to excellence in PreK-12 public education for all.
• Effective interpersonal, collaboration, and oral and written communication skills with students and colleagues, including those from diverse racial, ethnic, linguistic, and economic backgrounds.
