ACFI Tutor

Accounting and Finance Tutor

Department: Academic Achievement Center (AAC) – the largest hub of student academic support services at Bridgewater State University.

We have five openings for Accounting and Finance (ACFI) tutors for the  academic year. Tutors will support students from lower level ACFI courses one‑on‑one during weekday hours Monday‑Friday in the AAC. Their role advances a culture of accessibility and inclusivity throughout the university community.

• Meet with students from ACFI courses one‑on‑one to provide academic support.
• Assist students during weekday hours Monday‑Friday.
• Actively promote accessibility and inclusivity through tutoring practices.

• Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits.
• Earned a grade of B or higher in ACFI 100, ACFI 200, and ACFI 340 or ACFI 385.
• Availability for a minimum of 5 hours per week (M-F) for in‑person and/or online sessions in the AAC.
• Available to attend preservice tutor training and monthly training on topics such as tutoring communication skills, learning strategies, accessibility, cultural competence, equity, inclusion, etc.

• Highly dependable with excellent communication skills.
• Commitment to anti‑racism, equity, and inclusion.

• Hourly rate: $17.
