This posting is for potential part-time, non-benefited, day program faculty positions in the English Department. The current salary rate for a typical 3 credit lecture course taught by a new part-time faculty member in the day program is $4,005.00, paid through bi-weekly payroll direct deposit. Rates may vary for other course types based on contact hour equivalencies.

- English is one of the largest majors at Bridgewater State University and one of the most vibrant departments. With twenty-five full-time and many more part-time faculty, we offer a rich array of courses and programs designed to give our students broad introductions to the craft of writing and the study of literature, along with many opportunities for in-depth study. from creative non-fiction to the teaching of writing; and from contemporary film to literature from around the world.

Essential Duties
- The Department of English at Bridgewater State University seeks qualified Part Time Faculty who are enthusiastic teachers and dedicated to working with undergraduates for the 2026/2027 academic year. Candidates must demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of students from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of abilities. Candidates must be available to teach in-person, on campus.
Courses include but are not limited to first-year writing.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience teaching first-year writing at the college or community college level.
MA in English (Rhetoric and Composition or Literature)
