Half (.5) Graduate Assistant – English, Writing Program Administration (WPA)

The Half (.5) Graduate Assistant (GA) will work 10 hours per week and receive up to 15 credits of tuition and student fee waivers: 6 for fall, 6 for spring and 3 for summer.
Overview and Duties The graduate student will support Dr. Joyce Rain Anderson and Dr. Lisa Litterio, Writing Program Administrators (WPAs). They oversee the university’s first‑year writing program, including Enhanced 101 courses and ENGL 101 & 102. Responsibilities include developing a repository of online and web‑based pedagogical resources for faculty, researching best practices regarding large language models (LLMs) in writing, helping secure external speakers on AI and writing practices, and supporting writing fellows with office hours, timesheet approval, and pedagogical programming.
The assistant may create social media posts about first‑year writing practices and pursue related research.
Preferred Qualifications
- A graduate student in the English MA or MAT program.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, familiarity with Blackboard, and experience with social media design.
