Part‑Time Faculty, Dept. of Art and Art History – Foundations Studio Art Program
Bridgewater State University is seeking qualified part‑time faculty to teach foundational studio art courses in the Foundations Studio Art program. Instructors will work one day per week, teaching 3‑credit courses for which the typical salary is $4,005, paid bi‑weekly through payroll direct deposit.

Responsibilities
- Teach foundational studio art courses—Drawing I, Two‑Dimensional Design, Three‑Dimensional Design, and Digital Imaging—according to the Department of Art and Art History’s shared foundations program objectives.
- Provide high‑quality instruction, including preparation, grading, and timely feedback.
- Create and distribute syllabi to students and the department office as required.
- Utilize technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning.
- Work collaboratively within a close, collegial teaching faculty environment.
- Maintain a strong commitment to teaching excellence and foster a multicultural learning environment that values diversity.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required by the department.
- Teach courses in person on the main campus in Bridgewater.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to effectively teach foundational level studio art courses according to departmental objectives.
- Commitment to excellence in teaching and to working in a multicultural environment that fosters diversity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience at the university or college level.
Additional Conditions
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
