Staff Assistant – Coordinator of Advising, Enrollment, and Student Success

As a member of the College of Continuing Studies professional staff, the Coordinator of Advising, Enrollment, and Student Success will play a crucial role in meeting the University’s enrollment, student success, and retention goals. This position involves providing academic advising, enrollment support, and success coaching to students in the College of Continuing Studies. The Coordinator will also coordinate and assist the college’s part‑time academic advisors, organize advising, enrollment, student success, and retention activities, and coordinate career and graduate studies informational events.

Additionally, the role will promote access, equity, and community.

Standard

Schedule:

Monday through Fridays 9 am-5 pm
Location: Bridgewater, MA (On campus; hybrid work schedule allowed)

Position Type: APA Professional

Salary Range: $57,000 - $61,000

Responsibilities
  • Provide academic advising to degree‑seeking and non‑degree students in the College of Continuing Studies.
  • Coordinate assignment of advisees to part‑time academic advisors in the college.
  • Provide success coaching to degree‑seeking College of Continuing Studies students.
  • Provide enrollment assistance to students.
  • Develop and implement advising initiatives and activities.
  • Develop and implement student success and retention initiatives and activities.
  • Organize career and graduate studies informational events.
  • Assist with student problem resolutions.
  • Attend College of Continuing Studies and University events as assigned.
  • Act as a liaison to offices within the Division of Student Success and Diversity including Veteran’s Services, Legacy, and the Pride Center.
  • Act as a liaison to offices within the Division of Student Life including Commuter Services and the Student Professional Development office.
  • Act as a liaison with Career Services.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity and commitment to issues of access, equity, and inclusion in all interactions with students, the community, and campus colleagues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 1‑year professional experience or equivalent in enrollment, retention, student involvement, or student services.
  • Effective communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to issues of access, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to work with a diverse community of learners and exercise patience and understanding with learning challenges related to technology.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
  • Experience with programming and events.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of serving post‑traditional students.
  • Willingness to work some evenings and weekends, including local travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bi‑lingual or multi‑lingual.
  • Master’s degree.
  • Enthusiasm for the mission of public higher education.
  • Knowledge of University programs and culture.
  • Experience with all facets of Continuing Studies Programming including degree‑seeking, non‑degree, and non‑credit learning opportunities.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility.
