Writing Fellow
BSU's English department is looking for writing fellows to support students in EnhancedENGL
101 classes. Fellows will meet one-on-one with ENGL
101E students in the AAC, every week, typically for the following purposes: to support them, if needed, in interpreting the writing prompt / criteria, to ask questions prompting them to plan and further develop and organize ideas, to give them feedback on their writing—with the primary goal of fostering their development as writers (as opposed to maximizing their grade on the paper at hand, which is a secondary goal).
Exceptional interpersonal skills, excellent writing skills, openness to receiving constructive criticism, eagerness to work in a team environment, eagerness to take initiative, ability to "meet students where they are" rather than seeing them as deficient.
