Customer Service Rep, Event Manager / Planner

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist in tracking Events revenue.
- Finalize and distribute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for all events within the 10-day forecast to internal departments (Group Billing).
- Distribute Daily Events reports to ensure effective communication across departments.
- Answer phones and route Events sales inquiries to the appropriate Sales Manager.
- Create and communicate event resumes for small group bookings.
- Ensure that reader boards are updated daily with current event space information.
- Maintain the Group Transportation Log and communicate with carriers.
- Process Marriott Bonvoy Points and eBonus Points and produce breakfast and dinner vouchers as well as menu cards.
- Assist the Events team with promotional mailings, file maintenance, and organizing sales materials.
- Follow up on special banquet event arrangements from Director to ensure compliance.
- Maintain regular attendance, be consistently on time, and observe prescribed work, break and meal periods in compliance with standards.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliance with the dress code.
- Perform any other duties as requested by supervisor.
- Experience with Marriott FSPMS is required.
- Additional experience with CI/TY is required.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel is preferred.
- Must be detail oriented with a focus on accuracy, timeliness and thoroughness.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
- At least 2 to 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- College coursework in a related field helpful.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to interpret and perform basic math functions.
- Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data.
- Computer knowledge required.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office programs required.
Indoor work environment – 5 days a week onsite. Minimal to moderate noise levels consistent with hotel environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSFlexible and long hours sometimes required. Sedentary work – exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amounts of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
