The Retirement and Income Solutions (RIS) business segment focuses on delivering institutional retirement products that help manage longevity and investment risk, primarily through pension risk transfer and structured settlement solutions. It partners with plan sponsors and institutions to provide guaranteed income and financial security for retirees. RIS plays a strategic role in supporting long‑term growth and risk management for both clients and the enterprise.
Candidate will join the payout annuity valuation team jointly responsible for the valuation, analysis, and reporting of over $150 billion in reserves.
The OpportunityThe Actuarial Consultant II is responsible for valuations of various products across the US RIS business segment. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the company’s understanding of our solvency and financial results. There will be opportunities to apply new technologies – including AI – to new and existing business problems. RIS is a dynamic segment where change is a constant – responsibilities will include support for new strategic initiatives, regulatory changes, and new products.
Success in this role requires technical excellence and teamwork. The Actuarial Consultant II is responsible for both actuarial valuations of payout annuity products and stakeholder support. You’ll collaborate closely with product teams, IT, CFO, and controllers in an environment where every contribution is respected, and every perspective is heard.
How You’ll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)- Develop actuarial reserve models for new insurance products and reinsurance treaties.
- Improve existing processes by incorporating new and emerging technologies and methods including AI.
- Create accurate and complete reserve reports, disclosures, and regulatory filings.
- Resolve new and ongoing data issues.
- Answer internal and external stakeholder questions.
- ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) credential.
- Familiarity with Poly Systems, Python, SQL, Excel, Alteryx, and/or Databricks.
- 3+ years of work experience.
- Experience with institutional annuity products.
- Ability to balance multiple commitments and work under strict deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Great written and spoken communication skills.
The expected salary range for this position is $95,500 - $127,300. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
