We are seeking an experienced Income Tax Manager to lead corporate income tax compliance and reporting activities for a large, multi-state organization. This role is responsible for preparing and filing federal and state income tax returns, managing tax provisions, supporting audits, and ensuring accurate and timely tax payments. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in corporate tax, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare and file U.S. federal corporate income tax returns including Forms 1120, 5471, 1118, and 899x series
- Prepare and file multi-state income and franchise tax returns
- Compile financial data, perform analysis, and prepare detailed work papers supporting tax calculations
- Calculate and prepare estimated federal and state income/franchise tax payments
- Initiate ACH debits, wire transfers, and payment requests for tax obligations
- Record tax payments through journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger reconciliation
- Ensure all tax payments and filings are completed accurately and on time
- Prepare domestic quarterly tax provisions
- Review foreign quarterly tax provisions
- Prepare and file required annual reports
- Support federal and state tax audits, including documentation and analysis
- Identify and recommend improvements to tax processes, systems, and reporting workflows
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance and Accounting teams to ensure accurate tax data
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of corporate income tax and compliance experience
- Knowledge of U.S. Corporate Federal & State Income Tax regulations
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Project management and planning capabilities
- Self-motivated with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude
