Head of Investor Relations
Location: Bridgewater, NJ
Job Description SummaryThe Head of Investor Relations is responsible for creating the Company’s IR strategy, framework, tactics, and communication materials to effectively articulate the Company’s vision and strategy and investment thesis. This position serves as the primary liaison between the Company and the financial community, developing and maintaining strong relationships with institutional investors, analysts, and other key stakeholders. The role partners closely with executive leadership, finance, legal, commercial, R&D, and communications teams to ensure consistent, transparent, and effective messaging.
Responsibilities- Lead investor relations strategic initiatives and activities to ensure alignment and understanding of the company’s strategic messages and enhance the company’s reputation.
- Serve as a trusted spokesperson and point of contact for investors, analysts, and the financial community.
- Lead strategic development of key messages, Q&As, publications, presentations, and electronic media (e.g., IR website) used in the IR program, performing data collection, analysis, writing, editing, and production in collaboration with leadership and other functions.
- Monitor investor sentiment, shareholder composition, and market trends to advise senior leadership and the Board.
- Lead and manage ongoing dialogue with analysts and investors (traditional & CR&S) to promote a better understanding of the company’s value proposition, financial goals, and growth strategies, including investor outreach, targeting, and relationship management, IR conferences and roadshows, investor tours, and meetings/conference calls.
- Provide management an understanding of external perspectives on the company, ownership information, and buying/selling trends, including monitoring security analysts’ research and earnings estimates, consensus models, relative stock price movements, and periodic ownership analysis, and support monitoring trading data.
- Collaborate with Corporate Communications, ESG, and Strategy teams to integrate the company narrative into investor messaging.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of quarterly earnings announcements, investor calls, and financial reporting materials.
- Oversee the creation of investor presentations, press releases, and other communication tools to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance.
- Partner with Finance and Legal to ensure all external communications meet regulatory and disclosure requirements.
- Provide insights to leadership on market perception, competitive landscape, and valuation drivers.
- Participate in crisis communication preparedness initiatives, including data collection and analysis, drafting, editing, and support.
- Provide leadership and coaching to maintain a “best-in-class” function.
- Lead by example in areas of change management and be able to think creatively about talent development and organizational structure.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 12+ years progressive experience in investor relations, corporate finance, investment banking, or equity research within a public company.
- Prior pharmaceutical/biotech experience required.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation methodologies, and capital markets dynamics; additional experience in corporate or brand communications, marketing, or planning/development preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Solid understanding of finance, strategic communication, public relations, marketing, advertising, and the media.
- Good judgment, exceptional writing, analytical, presentation preparation, and project management skills.
- Outstanding financial and investment analysis skills, oral and written communication skills, and presentation ability.
- Strategic thinker with strong financial acumen.
- In-depth understanding of the financial and investment markets with ability to adapt quickly to changes.
- Ability to simplify complex financial information for diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate using these qualities and skills.
- Skilled in storytelling and shaping compelling narratives.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to interact at the executive and board level.
- Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment across multiple functions in the organization.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and judgment.
- Travel and working across time zones required.
The expected base pay range for this position is $330K - $430K. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable program. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion.
