Job DescriptionThe Retail Banker I is a customer liaison that works to deliver TD’s Brand promise by using financial expertise and consultative advice to assist Customers with banking solutions and needs. The role contributes to business objectives by identifying and recommending TD products that help Customers achieve financial goals.
- Proficient in products, services and routine transactions to identify opportunities for customer education and referrals.
- Maintains extensive knowledge of the full product suite and processes with low to moderate complexity.
- Builds and nurtures customer relationships through active listening and identifying additional needs.
- Makes product recommendations based on customer needs and highlights benefits.
- Uses customer relationship management tools for proactive customer assessments.
- Independently resolves customer issues, escalating when necessary.
- Explains detailed and/or complex information clearly to customers.
- Completes a range of teller transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and check cashing, while ensuring operational policies and fraud controls.
- Engages in conversations about loan products and facilitates application intake.
- Maintains an active registration status with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry).
- HS Diploma or GED.
- 1+ year of customer or sales experience (volunteer, education, or military experience preferred).
- Teller experience preferred.
- Ability to complete teller training upon hire.
- Demonstrated ability to educate customers on products and services.
- Strong organization skills for handling multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with concise and clear expression.
- Ability to schedule and prioritize work.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Sound judgment and effective problem solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Notary License (Preferred).
