Summary
The Finance Director will lead Financial Planning & Analysis and Accounting for North America, providing strategic financial leadership through budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and business analysis. The role partners with commercial, marketing, operations, and executive leadership to drive performance, identify efficiencies, and support profitable growth. Based in Bridgewater, NJ, the director ensures the integrity of financial information, strong internal controls, and audit readiness.
Responsibilities
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning; develop financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic initiatives.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reviews; monitor KPIs and financial performance versus plan.
- Oversee accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, treasury, payroll coordination, fixed assets, and month-end/quarter-end/year-end close processes.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements, compliance with US GAAP, and strong internal controls; coordinate internal and external audits.
- Provide financial guidance to commercial and marketing teams on sales planning, customer profitability, and ROI analyses.
- Drive process improvements, automation, system implementations, and support strategic projects and acquisitions.
- Lead, coach, and develop FP&A and Accounting teams; establish performance objectives and development plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field; MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing both FP&A and Accounting functions, preferably in multi-entity, international, wholesale, consumer goods, or luxury environments.
- Strong knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, financial modeling, and US GAAP.
- Experience with ERP systems, financial planning tools, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and leadership skills with the ability to partner with executive stakeholders.
