The Clinical Director assists the Director of Sex Offense-Specific Program Services in monitoring all aspects of sex offense specific treatment (SOT) services at the Massachusetts Treatment Center (MTC). This position has authority, responsibility, and accountability for effecting and monitoring SOT services both at the MTC and all other sites at which SOT services are offered. This position coordinates effective administration of SOT services as further described below and provides administrative guidance and support to site SOT staff, reporting to the Director of Sex Offense Specific Program Services.
CLINICAL DIRECTOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Coordinates onsite SOT services in accordance with DOC and VCHS policies, as well as the best practice standards set forth by the Association for the Treatment and Prevention of Sexual Abuse (ATSA).
- Provides clinical supervision to managerial staff, as well as unlicensed clinical staff.
- Oversees the quality and effectiveness of SOT service delivery to the patient population.
- Conducts periodic audits of the quality of SOT documents to ensure quality standards are met and documentation is completed in accordance with relevant policies.
- Maintains regular communication with the Director of Sex Offense-Specific Program Services to discuss SOT service delivery at each site.
- Creates, revises, and facilitates training for clinical staff, DOC administration, and other parties as needed, as well as identify gaps in training that require attention.
- Provide direct clinical services to the population, as needed.
- Assists with program development in order to improve quality of services and implement new empirically-supported interventions, as well as in response to the changing needs of the facility's population.
- Fosters positive relationships with the facility's leadership in order to achieve shared goals.
- Provides administrative support to the MTC's Health Services Administrator and Director of Sex Offense-Specific Program Services.
- Provides timely feedback to SOT staff on performance, and if appropriate, coordinates interventions to improve performance.
- Monitors outcomes under evidence-based clinical guidelines.
- Develops strategic plans in collaboration with Director of Sex Offense-Specific Program Services.
- Focuses on interpretation of data and confirms development of satisfactory and appropriate action plans to satisfy the diverse needs of the staff, facility, and population served.
- Fosters a professional and collaborative environment among and supports seamless delivery of services by the site SOT professionals, mental health providers, and site Health Service Administrators.
- Assists in the preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports used by VCHS, the MA DOC, and external stakeholders.
- Remains current with regard to research/literature related to the evaluation, treatment, and management of individuals who engage in problematic sexual behavior.
