Medical Assistant - Per-Diem; Bridgewater, NJ

It is a role where PA advertising is engaged in the planning, organization and execution of the training for a pediatric urgent care job.

Medical Assistant is responsible for all departmental functions aligned with the mission, vision and goals of PM Pediatrics. This role offers the opportunity to work as a pediatric medical assistant, applying skills in a pediatric urgent care setting and assisting with primary patient care within scope of practice under physician’s direct supervision.

• Provide clinical and administrative support for providers, patients and office operations
• Greet and register patients as they arrive
• Obtain medical history, patient vital signs and intake
• Prepare patients for X‑rays
• Perform and document routine labs, such as throat and urine cultures (venipuncture experience preferred)
• Irrigate and assist with wounds
• Assist in performing quality control testing in the lab
• Assist with patient care within scope of practice and be an integral part of the patient care team
• Keep exam rooms and front reception stocked with adequate supplies and maintain order and cleanliness of the waiting area
• Practice standard safety practices and precautions
• Help patients in distress by responding to emergencies and notifying medical team (nurse, urgent care tech, physician)
• Maintain operations by following policies and procedures; report needed changes to management
• Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential
• Enhance health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for new requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
• Assist patients with complaints and take an active role in service recovery when needed
• Perform other duties as needed, including applying splints and assisting the nurse and/or provider in other medical procedures
• Provide exceptional customer service

• High school diploma or GED
• Prior experience and/or education as a Medical Assistant
• Knowledge or EKG placement and processing in children
• Ability to obtain laboratory tests via nasal swab and venipuncture
• Demonstrate a professional and friendly demeanor
• Strong communications and organizational skills
• Prior pediatric experience
• Capable of multi‑tasking in a fast‑paced environment
• Comfortable with computers and Microsoft Office Suite
• Willing to learn medical software
• Experience with medical records preferred

$18 - $26/hour. Salary range is provided to comply with local regulations and reflects a potential base salary for the role. Actual salaries may vary within this range based on experience and location.
