Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Dermatology (Northern New Jersey territory)
Role Responsibilities

  • Serve as a field-based scientific and clinical expert; strategic scientific partner integrating internal/external data to inform medical engagement, patient care, and territory strategy.
  • Develop and enhance relationships with KOLs and HCP teams; provide fair, balanced, objective, non-promotional scientific information and education via evidence-based exchange.
  • Stay current on scientific/treatment landscape trends by critically evaluating emerging data; support investigator-initiated studies (facilitate exchange; connect investigators to internal research/grant processes) per policies.
  • Create and execute a territory scientific engagement plan aligned to Medical Affairs strategy and approved medical assets.
  • Use MSL tools/AI insights to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities; improve decision-making and efficiency.
  • Identify provider educational needs; deliver tailored, balanced scientific presentations and discussions.
  • Collect and submit actionable insights to inform medical strategy, asset planning, and cross-functional discussions.
  • Support investigators and internal partners for company-sponsored and investigator-initiated studies.
  • Respond to unsolicited research/clinical inquiries promptly with compliant information.
  • Compliantly collaborate in matrix (MSL partners, R&D, Global Medical Affairs, clinical operations; role-defined interactions with Sales/Marketing).
  • Demonstrate scientific acumen through ongoing learning, journal clubs, seminars, and congresses; support development of others.
  • Understand regulatory/health care compliance guidelines, corporate conduct policies, and Medical Affairs SOPs; complete administrative tasks accurately.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate level degree or equivalent (PharmD, PhD, MD, Advanced Practice Provider, etc.); post-graduate experience required for doctoral candidates (therapeutic clinical experience preferred).
  • 2+ years relevant experience, including demonstrated success as an MSL.
  • Ability to support territory with up to 70% travel.
  • Valid US Driver’s License.
Preferred
  • Residency/fellowship; therapeutic area knowledge/experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot; computers and remote technologies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to emerging technologies (AI).
  • Related clinical/research/pharma experience.
