The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will serve as a field‑based scientific expert focused on Cushing’s Syndrome, Cushing’s Disease and Acromegaly. The MSL’s mission is to foster collaborative relationships with key opinion leaders and facilitate the exchange of unbiased scientific information between the medical community and the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Deliver clinical and scientific presentations to health care professionals, including clinicians and P&T committee members, providing up‑to‑date medical information and product details.
- Provide scientific support at medical conferences and assist clinicians with current knowledge of Cushing’s Syndrome, Cushing’s Disease, and Acromegaly for Isturisa, Signifor, and Signifor LAR.
- Maintain peer‑to‑peer collaborations and relationships with key medical experts in the therapeutic area.
- Respond to unsolicited medical information requests using a customized approach.
- Collaborate with physicians on medical affairs initiatives, including support for publications, investigator‑initiated trials, and company‑sponsored research.
- Support clinical initiatives such as selection of investigations, site identification, registry creation, and presentation of final approved data.
- Provide medical and scientific input into the planning and execution of Advisory Boards.
- Train staff, including the sales team, on key scientific and medical topics.
- Participate in the development and review of professional slide decks, medical letters, and clinical summaries.
- Develop territory plans in collaboration with the direct line manager.
- Gather clinical field insights and regularly inform the team through appropriate channels.
- Understand the role and contributions of Medical Science Liaisons and Medical Affairs.
- Act in full compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies, including adverse events and pharmacovigilance responsibilities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Advanced scientific degree (M.D., D.O., Ph.D., Pharm.
D.) in Medical or Biological Sciences. - Minimum of two years of experience in Medical Affairs or Clinical functions.
- Familiarity with drug development processes, FDA, ICH, and GCP guidelines.
- Experience implementing, monitoring, or managing clinical trials in academic or pharmaceutical/biotechnology settings is a plus.
- Ability to review and interpret clinical data.
- Ability to develop clinical data and medical content for internal and external audiences.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Strong presentation skills.
- Project management experience (a plus).
- Experience with rare diseases, including clinical practice or research (a plus).
- Excellent time‑management and independent work capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
This job operates in a professional office environment and involves standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The role may require attending meetings, traveling out of state on weekends and nights, and obtaining a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Physical DemandsThe employee must be able to fly via commercial air carrier. This is largely a sedentary role, but the employee frequently stands, walks, uses hands, and may lift light to moderate weight (up to 25 lbs). The employee also talks and listens regularly.
Location/Travel- Field‑based, located near a major airport.
- Approximately 60% travel required.
