Lead Auditor - Data & AI - MetLife

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and report on audits of data pipelines, AI models, and related technology platforms, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
• Assess data governance frameworks, data quality controls, and model risk management practices, identifying gaps and recommending remediation.
• Collaborate with business units, data scientists, and IT teams to understand AI use cases, evaluate model lifecycle controls, and provide actionable insights.
• Develop audit programs that integrate risk‑based approaches, leveraging data analytics and SQL queries to test large data sets efficiently.
• Deliver strategic advisory services, advising senior leadership on emerging data and AI risks, control enhancements, and best‑practice implementations.

• 5+ years of experience in internal audit, risk management, or compliance with a focus on data, analytics, or AI environments.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, model risk management, and relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2, AI ethics guidelines).
• Proficiency in data‑analysis tools and languages such as SQL; familiarity with Python or similar scripting languages is a plus.
• Excellent communication and consulting skills, capable of presenting complex technical findings to senior stakeholders.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CIA, CISA, CRMA) or advanced degrees in information systems, data science, or related fields are preferred.
