As a Lab Ware LIMS Technical Consultant
, you will make an impact by delivering laboratory informatics solutions that support quality, compliance, and operational excellence across pharmaceutical and life sciences organizations. You will be a valued member of the Life Sciences Technology team and work collaboratively with laboratory personnel, quality teams, business stakeholders, and technical teams to implement, enhance, and support Lab Ware LIMS solutions within regulated environments.
this role, you will:
- Design, configure, customize, and support Lab Ware LIMS solutions to meet business, laboratory, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead requirements gathering, solution design workshops, and business process assessments, providing subject matter expertise on Lab Ware LIMS capabilities and industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain custom Lab Ware components including LIMS Basic scripts, subroutines, event triggers, visual workflows, calculations, and custom business logic.
- Design and support integrations between Lab Ware LIMS and enterprise applications, laboratory instruments, SAP, MES, ERP platforms, and third‑party systems.
- Collaborate with business and IT teams to optimize laboratory processes, support system enhancements, and ensure successful project delivery across multiple environments.

What you need to have to be considered- 8+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years of hands‑on Lab Ware LIMS implementation, configuration, customization, and support experience.
- Strong functional and technical expertise with Lab Ware LIMS in regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences environments.
- Deep understanding of Lab Ware LIMS configuration, workflows, sample lifecycle management, and laboratory business processes.
- Strong experience with LIMS Basic development, including calculations, variable properties, custom algorithms, and business rule implementation.
- Proven expertise in developing subroutines, event triggers, visual workflows, and custom Lab Ware solutions.
- Experience configuring analyses, sample plans, products, item codes, and laboratory master data.
- Hands‑on experience integrating Lab Ware LIMS with SAP, MES, ERP platforms, laboratory instruments, and external systems.
- Experience working with SOAP and REST web services, parsing scripts, automated data acquisition, and system integration technologies.
- Knowledge of deployment, migration, validation, release management, and software lifecycle processes within regulated environments.
- Excellent communication, consulting, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience leading cross‑functional project teams and mentoring functional and technical consultants.
- Knowledge of laboratory informatics, quality control, quality assurance, and manufacturing operations.
- Experience supporting multiple Lab Ware environments, including Development, QA, UAT, and Production.
- Familiarity with GxP, FDA, MHRA, and related regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience performing business process optimization and laboratory digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of validation methodologies, computerized system validation (CSV), and regulatory inspection readiness.

The annual salary for this position is between $130,000- $150,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
